HÔTEL DU PARC, CAVALAIRE-SUR-MER

Three Bike Itineraries Around Saint-Tropez

There is a different way to experience the Saint-Tropez peninsula: on two wheels, with the coastline unfolding gradually rather than through a car window. Roads give way to vineyards, pine forests and stretches of Mediterranean blue, while small villages offer natural pauses along the way.

Hôtel du Parc is particularly well placed for exploring by bike. Cavalaire sits directly on the V65, a long-distance cycle route linking Sanary-sur-Mer with Nice and following sections of the former Provence railway line. Much of the route is relatively flat, making it an accessible starting point for discovering the surrounding coastline.

For a shorter coastal ride or a longer day exploring the peninsula, these three itineraries offer different ways to see the area beyond the beach.

Cavalaire to La Croix-Valmer

From Hôtel du Parc, approximately 10 minutes to the cycling route

For an easy introduction to the peninsula by bike, follow the V65 from Cavalaire towards La Croix-Valmer. The route passes through a landscape of Mediterranean vegetation and coastal scenery, with the sea never far from view.

The Cavalaire section of the V65 includes dedicated cycle paths and shared sections, with around 5 km of the route within the commune itself. From there, the route continues towards La Croix-Valmer, making it an ideal option for a relaxed morning ride rather than a full-day expedition.

Once in La Croix-Valmer, take time to explore the village or continue towards the surrounding vineyards before turning back towards Cavalaire. The local tourism office also highlights several additional cycling and mountain-bike circuits around the commune, ranging from coastal routes to inland trails.

In short: a gentle coastal ride, Mediterranean scenery and an easy introduction to cycling around the peninsula.

La Croix-Valmer to Saint-Tropez

Approximately 20–25 minutes by car from Hôtel du Parc to La Croix-Valmer

For a longer ride, continue north from La Croix-Valmer towards Saint-Tropez. The cycling route connects the two destinations and offers a way to reach the peninsula’s most famous town without making the journey entirely by car.

The route takes you through the changing landscape of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, moving between coastal roads, residential areas and stretches of Mediterranean countryside. Arriving in Saint-Tropez by bike also changes the experience of the town itself: leave the bike and continue on foot through the old streets, along the harbour and towards the Place des Lices.

For guests who prefer a longer outing, Saint-Tropez can become the destination of the ride rather than simply a stop on a driving itinerary.

In short: a longer coastal journey that turns Saint-Tropez into the destination at the end of the ride.

Gassin, Ramatuelle & Pampelonne

Approximately 30 minutes by car from Hôtel du Parc to Gassin

For a more varied route, head towards Gassin and follow the 22.9 km loop through Gassin, Ramatuelle and the famous Pampelonne area. The circuit combines countryside, village roads and views towards the coast, making it one of the more varied rides in the area.

The route includes around 200 metres of elevation and is classified as moderate. It follows a combination of roads and the V65, eventually reaching the Route des Plages before looping back towards Gassin. Some sections share the road with cars, so the route is best enjoyed when traffic is lighter.

The reward is the variety: the hilltop village of Gassin, the landscapes around Ramatuelle and the beaches of Pampelonne all become part of the same journey.

In short: a more active loop combining villages, vineyards, countryside and the Mediterranean coastline.
